SIVALOKA
Inspired by the dramatic, rock-cut Elephanta temple in India, Sivaloka explores the concept of Siva, a unique contribution of Indian thought to the understanding of the human condition. Creating an immersive space, Boonham’s choreography shifts and changes within Siva’s paradoxical realm of opposites. Sounds created and recorded within the cave temple – where Boonham and her team of collaborators were given special access to the UNESCO World Heritage site – are used to drive the powerful and emotive music.
